The Best Kids Slippers of 2023
Based on the combined experience of our team of moms, online reviews, and feedback from friends and family, here are the 15 best kids’ slippers.
Disney Toy Story Woody & Buzz Slippers
Best for Boys
These Disney Toy Story slippers have just enough padding to provide comfort and protection from hardwood or tile flooring, but not so much they are unwieldy, uncomfortable, or overly warm.
The Woody and Buzz characters, one on each slipper, are securely stitched in place, ensuring they continue to look good after multiple washes. That post-wash quality also applies to the stuffing, which “re-fluffs” after a spin in the dryer.
The soles are a soft fabric with flat, rubberized spots that provide a degree of grip. They are enough to prevent accidentally sliding across a smooth floor, but they may not be enough to stop an intentional sliding attempt.
Pros
- Like new after machine wash and dry.
- Elasticated ankle keeps slippers in place.
- Not overly stuffed.
Cons
- Sizing runs a little small.

Dearfoams Child Li’l Bear Slippers
Best for Older Kids
They may be called “Li’l Bear,” but these slippers from Dearfoams can make a little one feel big.
Available in 18 coordinating styles and sizes from infant to an older child, these slippers have soft yet firm memory foam on rubber soles. Consequently, these soles provide grip and structure while also being incredibly comfortable.
All the slipper styles have bear ears, but the bigger kid sizes are not cute animal head style footwear. Instead, they have slogans like “Big Bro,” “Big Sis,” or “Big” on one foot and “Bear” on the other. Meanwhile, the infant sizes say “Baby” and “Bear.”
Therefore these are not only a great, comfortable, hard-wearing slipper, but they are also a fabulous gift for older kids with younger siblings or for children who have a sibling on the way.
Pros
- Comfortable memory foam insole.
- Firm rubber sole for outdoors.
- Faux fur-lined options are cozy.
Cons
- Open back allows the sole to “flap.”

Joules Unisex Children’s Slipper Socks
Best Socks
These slipper socks from Joules are nowhere near as big and bulky as they first appear in the photos. Rather than ending halfway up the calf, these slippers sit just above the ankle when they are on.
The ankle is elasticated enough to prevent the slippers from coming off easily but not so strong that it will leave red marks on your child’s skin.
A soft, suede sole provides plenty of grip but doesn’t have a grip pattern. Your child can run about on hard floors without sliding but won’t come to a sudden, hard stop, as can happen with some footwear.
Thick padding keeps toes warm, and the stars on the “starry night” print glow in the dark.
Pros
- Machine washable.
- Soft suede soles.
- Thick padded uppers.
Cons
- Cannot go in the dryer.

Dearfoams Unisex Children’s Clog Slippers
Best Hard Soles
The firm rubber soles of these comfortable slippers provide safety and support. It also makes them suitable for the occasional foray into the outdoors.
These clog-style slippers have a small “lip” of fabric at the heel. This lip is enough to prevent the slippers from flapping as your child walks or runs. It also minimizes the amount of fabric around the foot, keeping little toes from overheating.
On top of the rubber sole, a thick memory foam pad makes these slippers exceptionally comfortable.
Pros
- Cute 3D animal heads.
- Hardwearing, comfortable soles.
- Fit true to size.
Cons
- Low back isn’t suitable for everyone.

Super Mario Brothers Plush Slippers
Best Character
Bright, colorful, and appealing, these giant, comfy, official Nintendo slippers are a big hit with Super Mario fans.
Gently padded soles are flexible enough not to restrict little feet while being thick and firm enough to protect them on cold or hard floors. Meanwhile, the soles of the slippers have rubberized dots to give a reasonable measure of grip.
The thick, all-around padding will keep toes toasty, but the synthetic materials may cause a kid’s feet to get a little sweaty in warm climates or well-heated homes.
Pros
- Slippers can be worn on either foot.
- Padding on soles is comfortable but not restrictive.
- Machine washable.
Cons
- Materials are listed as synthetic fabrics, but it would be nice to know exactly what they are.

Sesame Street Cookie Monster Slippers
Best Ankle Cuffs
These fluffy Cookie Monster slippers have a stretchy, sock-like knitted ankle band of roughly two inches. Once pulled on, this cuff ensures the slippers stay in place without the discomfort or potential annoyance of elastics.
As well as being fun to wear, these Cookie Monsters are also fun to play with. Slip your hand inside the slipper with your thumb to the back of the foot and your fingers pointing to the front. Then bring your thumb and fingers together, bending the sole, and creating a mouth.
Pros
- Knitted cuffs keep the slippers in place.
- Doubles as a puppet!
- Cute Cookie Monster or Elmo options.
Cons
- No inner lining leaves the inside rough.
- Printing on eyeballs wears off over time.

LazyOne Animal Paw Slippers
Best Lined
Available in eleven styles, these big, bold, beautiful paw slippers are bound to have a color-combo or species option that will appeal to your little monster.
These slippers end just above the ankle, and the paws have large, padded “toes,” each of which has a soft claw. The rest of the slipper is padded all the way up past the ankle.
The bottoms of the slippers also include padding for warmth and comfort, while the rubberized dots on the underside provide a degree of slip resistance.
With sizes from infant to adult, you’ll always be able to replace your child’s favorite slippers as they grow.
Pros
- Fun animal and monster designs.
- Keep feet warm without overheating.
- Plenty of room to grow.
Cons
- Sizing can be tricky.
- Size and shape make walking difficult for young toddlers.

Skechers Girl’s Flip Sequin Cozy Slipper Socks
Best Sequined
By the footwear company you usually associate with athletic and casual shoes, these slippers from Sketchers are a riot of sequins and cuteness. The fluffy bear ears that stand proud from the main body of the slipper are sewn in exceptionally well, as are the applique features.
Just as there’s no danger of the ears or face detaching, we didn’t have any issues with escaping sequins, even after several weeks of a rambunctious girl living her most active life with these on her feet.
The only downsides to these cute slippers are that the padding is relatively thin, with a fabric sole that offers no protection, and the fit is narrow.
Pros
- Unique sequined styling.
- Sewn-on woven features.
- Fits true to size.
Cons
- Minimal support.
- Lining moves around.

Hanes Unisex Children’s Moccasin Slippers
Best Unlined
The firm yet flexible rubber sole with a well-molded grip means these slippers from Hanes are safe around the house as well as for impromptu trips into the garden.
On top of the sole, there is a comfortable, supportive memory foam cushion to which the woven fabric upper is firmly stitched. The upper construction is glued to the sole, and some people have found the sole can come unstuck, although we did not experience this.
The one thing that bothered us was the label sewn onto the memory foam, which may be bothersome for kids with sensory issues. Even when we cut ours out, we were unable to make the fabric completely smooth and irritant-free.
Pros
- Odor protection.
- Machine washable.
- Good for indoors and out.
Cons
- Adult styling may not appeal.
- Annoying label in the footbed.

Crocs Kids Classic Fuzzy Slippers
Best for Toddlers
Although Crocs call these “fuzzy slippers,” this could be a little misleading. They are made of a felt fabric that is only slightly fuzzy, but that does not detract from how sweet these little slippers are.
On the underside of the soles, small, firm foam nubs provide more than enough grip to prevent a toddler from losing their footing on a slippery floor.
These are just warm enough to keep the chill off of little toes but not thick enough to be considered suitable outside footwear if it is even remotely cold.
Pros
- Firm but flexible soles.
- Grippy underside is safe for toddlers.
- Easily manageable for toddlers.
Cons
- Easy for toddlers to remove.
- Not suitable outside.

LEGO Blocks Toddler Plush A-line Slippers
Best for Independent Kids
These official LEGO slippers are like a combination of oversized, over-padded, all-around fabric slippers with a stiff sole, much like adult slippers.
The slippers have a strip of printed LEGO bricks around the bottom. A thick, heavily stuffed upper displays a Minifigure head, while snug, padded elastic surrounds the back of the foot. Rather than the fabric bottom you might expect, these slippers have a shoe-like, molded rubber sole.
To begin with, the upper is relatively snug across the toes, so the slippers need to be worn in a little to loosen up and become entirely comfortable.
Pros
- Bright, colorful, kid-friendly design.
- Thick padding all around the foot.
- Solid but flexible rubber sole.
Cons
- Tighter upper needs time to stretch.
- Tricky for some kids to get on and off.

LazyOne Kids’ Woodland Slippers
Cutest Socks
With knitted acrylic on the outside and soft, snug fleece on the inside, these LazyOne kids’ woodland slippers are an excellent option for those who don’t like stiff sole footwear in the home but still need something to keep off the chill.
The fold-over ankle cuff prevents the slipper socks from coming off too easily but makes it simple for little ones to pull the slippers on or take them off by themselves.
The non-slip coating on the sole is strong enough to do the job, but some of us found the noise it makes on hard floors annoying. Also, the sensation of the fleece “inner sock” moving within the outer slipper was distracting or bothersome for some kids.
Pros
- Comfortable to sleep in.
- Original designs.
- Available in sizes from infant to adult for family matching.
Cons
- Fleece lining can shift as you walk.
- Noise from the grip coating bothers some.

Laura Ashley Girls Moccasin Style Slippers
Best Moccasin Style
These slippers were a big hit in the looks department. The tiny threads give the finished footwear an overall glitzy look without being garish. Or, as one child put it, “not too princess sparkly.”
The non-slippery rugged soles make them a hit with adults.
There are three color options to choose from as well as three sizes available.
Pros
- Pretty fleece and cushioned foot bed.
- Warm fur lining.
- Comfortable non-skid insole.
Cons
- Sizes tend to run a bit small.
- Limited color options.

Jessica Simpson Girl’s Plush Faux Fur Slipper
Best for Girls
These glamorous foot fluffs from the Jessica Simpson footwear range are a big hit with the “girly girls.”
The synthetic sole is lighter than comparable rubber soles, making them easy to wear and quieter on wooden or tile floors. Although they are a slip-on style, there is a thick, wide, appropriately fluffy strap around the back of the foot to keep these slippers firmly in place.
On the downside, the fluff seems to get dirty very quickly, and you can only machine wash on cold, with no machine drying. Consequently, ours began to look a bit flat and grubby because a cold wash didn’t get all the dirt out, and without machine drying, the fluff was left looking flat and limp.
Pros
- Glamorous yet quiet on hard floors.
- Comfortable memory foam insole.
- Back strap keeps the slippers on.
Cons
- Flap annoyingly if kids don’t use the strap.
- Cold wash may leave some dirt behind.
- Fluff falls flat after washing.

Simple Joys by Carter’s Unisex Children’s Fuzzy Slipper
Best Affordable
The fleece lining in these fun animal slippers is warm yet comfortable, and the dotty grip pattern on the underside is enough to prevent slides and accidents.
Although they say “slip-on design,” your little one does have to hook the back of the slipper onto their foot. This isn’t a problem, and we actually prefer it. We only mention the difference because you may expect one slipper style and get another.
One issue with these slippers is their vague sizing. For example, there’s an option of “toddler large” but no comparable shoe sizes listed. We also found that even with the best guess for sizing, the slippers do run a little small, so it’s best to go up a size.
Pros
- Sweet to “scary” styles.
- Good quality for the price.
- Best affordable option.
Cons
- Odd size listings make choosing difficult.
- Sizing runs small.
- Label in the center of the foot is bothersome to some kids.

How to Choose the Best Kids Slippers
These are the most important things to consider when you’re choosing the best slippers for your kids.
